The Inaugural Meeting of Hayfield Cricket Club   24th June 1859

Meeting held at Mrs Quarmby’s, now The George Hotel Hayfield

 

The actual committee met at Mrs Quarmby’s on Friday night the 24 of June 1859 when the following rules were adopted

Rule 1st That this club be called the Hayfield Cricket Club

Rule 2nd That it be managed by a committee of 5 members and also by a secretary and treasurer, ex-offico members of the commit to be elected (and eligible for re-election) at an annual meeting.

Rule 3rd That the secretary be the executive officer of the committee with full powers to act and order the games refreshments, the care of the ground and all other matters within the province of the committee and that whenever he anticipates the consent of the committee he is to apply as early as possible for their consent.
